An English robber decided to rob a French book store.

He walked into the store, pointed his gun at the guy behind the counter and said "Give me the money in the till !"

The Frenchman did not know what he was talking about and said "Je n'ai pas compris. Que désirez-vous?"
The robber got very angry and yelled "I said give me the money in the till, and hurry up !" The Frenchman looked at him and was just about to say that he still did not understand, when another man walked into the shop.
The robber pointed his gun at the man and said "Stay where you are! Do you speak English?"
The man replied "Yes I do..."
"OK" said the robber "tell that stupid man over there to give me the money in the till."
The man said to the guy behind the counter "Il veut l'argent de la caisse."
The man behind the counter said "Mais je n'ai pas d'argent dans la caisse!"
The man said to the robber "He hasn't got any money in the till!"
The robber started to get very upset and screamed "Tell him to give me some money otherwise I'll shoot him."
So the man said to the guy behind the counter "Il dit qu'il va vous tirer dessus si vous ne lui donnez pas de l'argent."
The guy said "Tell him to take the Shakespeare book over there with the red cover on the top right-hand shelf. I've got all my money hidden there." So the man turns to the robber and says "He says you're not brave enough to pull the trigger!"
